COVID-19: 224 people discharged; 7 deaths in Coimbatore district, today

Coimbatore: Even with the promising number of COVID-19 patients being discharged from Coimbatore district, the increasing death rate has caused concern. As per the State bulletin, on August 1, 10 people were reported to have succumbed to the virus, and 7 patients died, today.











Coimbatore: Even with the promising number of COVID-19 patients being discharged from Coimbatore district, the increasing death rate has caused concern. As per the State bulletin, on August 1, 10 people were reported to have succumbed to the virus, and 7 patients died, today.

Bringing much hope to the people, 224 people have recovered and were discharged, today. Despite the death rates increasing every day, so far 3469 patients of the 5230 patients infected with the Virus have been discharged in the district.

With 170 positive cases reported today, the total Coronavirus cases have rose to 5230. And, 1690, active cases are under treatment at both government, private hospitals and COVID Care Centres.

A total of 370 flights have landed in the city till August 1 and a total of 30,298 passengers from various states have arrived to the district. Of which, 225 people were tested positive for Covid-19, as per the State bulletin.

Details of patients who died of Covid-19, as reported in State bulletin:

1. A 67-year-old male from Coimbatore admitted on July, 27 at 12.15 AM in Government Medical College & ESI Hospital, Coimbatore.The patient died on July 31 due to ARDS / COVID Positive.

2. A 69-year-old male from Coimbatore admitted on July 17 at 05.23 PM in Government Medical College & ESI Hospital, Coimbatore.The patient died on August 1 due to ARDS / COVID Positive.

3. A 59-year-old female from Coimbatore with Chronic Kidney Disease admitted on July 29 died due to Bilateral Bronchopneumonia / COVID Positive / Cerebrovascular Accident / Haemorrhagic Stroke / Chronic Kidney Disease / COVID Pneumonia /Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome.

4. A 54-year-old male from Coimbatore with Chronic Kidney Disease / Systemic Hypertension admitted on July 24 at 03.16PM in Coimbatore Medical College Hospital. The patient died on July 31 due to COVID 19 Positive / Bilateral Bronchopneumonia / Chronic Kidney Disease / Acute Pulmonary Oedema / Systemic Hypertension.

5. A 46-year-old female from Coimbatore with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus / Systemic Hypertension admitted on July 24 at 02.16 PM in Coimbatore Medical College Hospital. The patient died on July 31 due to Cerebrovascular Accident / Haemorrhagic Stroke / Chronic Kidney Disease / COVID Pneumonia /Systemic Hypertension / Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.

6. A 63-year-old male from Coimbatore with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus admitted on July 30 at 08.03 PM in Coimbatore Medical College Hospital. The patient died on July 30 at 08.45 PM due to COVID 19 Positive / Bilateral Bronchopneumonia / Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.

7. A 80-year-old male from Coimbatore with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus admitted on July 30 at 02.57 PM in Coimbatore Medical College Hospital. The patient died on July 31 at 10.15 AM due to COVID 19 Positive / Bilateral Bronchopneumonia /Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome / Type 2 Diabetes mellitus.
