Coimbatore: In a tragic accident, a speeding car allegedly rammed into a two wheeler causing the death of the pillion rider of a two-wheeler and leaving his daughter grievously injured near Singanallur here, on Sunday.
Coimbatore: In a tragic accident, a speeding car allegedly rammed into a two wheeler causing the death of the pillion rider of a two-wheeler and leaving his daughter grievously injured near Singanallur here, on Sunday.
Despite today being a total lockdown, Paramasivam (55) and his daughter Deepika (22), father and daughter were reportedly travelling back home after attending Aadi 18 rituals of one their family member.
According to reports, when Deepika tried to turn right near the Perks School, from Ramanathapuram towards Singanallur, their two wheeler was allegedly rammed by a speeding car.
Following which, the two of them were thrown out from the vehicle and Paramasivam who was the pillion rider, died on the spot. And, Deepika who was grievously injured has been admitted at Coimbatore GH in a critical state.
The Singanallur Traffic police and the Gandhipuram Transport Investigation Department arrived to the accident spot and commenced investigation.
A case has been filed on Niranjan, the driver of the car for alleged speeding and causing accident.
