Annur BJP cadre arrested for posting derogatory content about Periyar

Pro-Hindu activist posting derogatory content about Periyar nabbed in Annur

Coimbatore: Citing a recent case under the IPC Sections 153(a), 295(a) and 505(2) filed on Shanmuganathan, a third year law student from Annur near Coimbatore for allegedly posting objectionable content pertaining to PM Modi and Kandha Shasti Kavasam, TPDK members from Annur sought explanation as to why action was not initiated against the person, Hairlines Nandhakumar, a BJP cadre who posted defamatory content against Periyar, on his social media wall.

Following this, based on a complaint lodged by Annur TPDK In-charge Gopalakrishnan against Hairlines Nandhakumar, police filed a case against him under the same sections that Shanmuganathan was booked with and cast nets to nab him.

Eventually the police nabbed Nandhakumar in Ganeshapuram near Annur. He was then produced at Mettupalayam Court and imprisoned at Perundurai Sub Jail.
