Coimbatore: Police have arrested persons who target college students to sell cannabis in Coimbatore and have seized cannabis from them and are monitoring the activities. Most of the people involved in the sale of ganja target youngsters.

Police arrested two youngsters last night on a tip-off that ganja was sold at two different places, including Sai Baba Colony, Coimbatore and seized 1 kg 500 grams of cannabis from them.
On investigating, the police came to know that the duo, Ganesh and Siju, were from the Ondipudur area. The police who arrested them seized Rs.900 cash and a two wheeler from the men. Cases were filed against them and they were imprisoned.
Police were conducting a vehicle search in the Selvapuram area this evening. When a two wheeler was stopped and questioned, the two riders spoke in a suspicious manner. Sensing something was amiss, the police conducted a close scrutiny and found that the two men, Velmurugan and Sheik Muhammed, had cannabis concealed and were taking it for sale. The police seized the cannabis and arrested the men. They produced them before a court and imprisoned them.
