Tirupur: The Minister for Animal Husbandry Udumalai Radhakrishnan said that the TN government cares for the welfare of farmers and that they can directly meet the members of the government.

He inaugurated a Aavin milk cold storage facility for the use of the public. Speaking to the press at the event, he said, "A separate Diary Union has been formed for the purchase of milk in the Tirupur district and 2.60 lakh litres of milk is purchased. The cooling centers have been set up at a cost of Rs.80 lakhs and have a capacity of 5,000 litres. Since Tirupur is leading in the production of milk, more cooling centers will be set up."
He further said, "Admissions for Salem Veterinary College hospital will begin this year. Cauvery water will be brought to the medical college at a cost of Rs.250 crores."
When questioned about the electricity towers and the opposition from the farmers, he said, "This government is a government that protects the welfare of the farmers. MP's are seeking opinion from the farmers. They can meet us directly. We are a government who cares for the welfare of the farmers."

The Perundurai MLA Thoppu N.T. Venkatachalam, Tirupur District Collector Dr. Vijayakarthikeyan, Government officials and the public took part in the event.
