The spread of COVID-19 has been increasing daily in the district and various measures are undertaken by the state government and the district administration to control it.Despite these measures, the COVID case tally in the district has soared to 4,344.
Under the circumstances. two brothers aged 59 and 55, their respective wives, their children and two women of advanced age residing as a joint family at Muruga Nagar in the Sundarapuram area have all turned positive for the dreaded virus. Last week, many of them developed flu-like symptoms following which they volunteered for PCR tests at the Primary Health Center nearby. The results turned positive for all of them.
Following this, their residence was fumigated and all of them have been taken away for treatment.
