Coimbatore: The Thudiyalur police seized 400 kgs of gutkha from a house near Kavundampalayam.
Based on a tip off that gutkha was being stashed and sold in the Driver Colony area of Kavundampalayam, the Thudiyalur police Inspector Balamuralisundaram and Sub Inspector Anand conducted a search at a house in Driver Colony.
During the search, they found 400 kgs of banned gutkha worth Rs.2 lakhs. On enquiry, it was revealed that the stashed gutkha was being sold to stores.
Following this, the Thudiyalur police seized the gutkha and arrested the house owner Chandrasekaran. Investigations are on.
