Coimbatore: A 10-member gang that tried to extort money from actress Poorna has been arrested by the police. The gang includes two men from Coimbatore.
The gang tried to cheat and extort money from Actress Poorna who resides in Kochi, Kerala along with her family. They introduced themselves as jewellery shop owners and approached her with a wedding proposal.
An enquiry conducted with them revealed that they had cheated many other models and other women under the pretext of providing them with a chance in the movies.
Shockingly, it was also revealed that they imprisoned women in a hotel room in Palakkad and tortured them.
Two men Najeeb Raja and Jafer Sadiq from Coimbatore have been arrested in connection with this case and the Ernakulam police presented them at the court and imprisoned them.
