Cops from Podanur police station regularly turn positive for COVID-19. On April 24, three constables at the police station tested positive following which the station was closed and was temporarily moved to a nearby location and was only reopened after 18 days.
Though the police at the station wore face masks and followed the rest of the precautionary measures, on July 7, a female chief constable at the station turned positive for the dreaded virus. Additionally, a crime branch special sub-inspector developed flu-like symptoms last week. Following this. he underwent a PCR test the result of which has come out positive. He has been admitted at a private hospital for treatment.
