Carrot, beetroot, potatoes and cabbage are the primary crops that are cultivated in the Nilgiris. Due to the good monsoon this year, most of the agricultural lands have had good yields.

Over the past three months, farming of vegetables was done with a minimum number of workers due to their unavailability. Now, with the rains and the availability of labour, the harvest of vegetables has begun in the Nilgiris. Harvest of the crops that were planted nearly three months ago is underway in full swing at the areas such as Keel Kowhatti, Mutthorai Palada, Kotagiri and Selas.
