The spread of COVID-19 has prompted the government to insist on various measures such as wearing face masks and maintaining social distancing. The police have been instructed to take action against violators.
A lockdown is in place in the state with some exceptions. Sunday (July 26) witnessed a 37-hour lockdown in Coimbatore. It started at 5 PM on Saturday and extended until 6 AM on Monday.
To assist the government in the COVID-19 prevention measures the CMSSA has decided that mobile phone sales and services shops will be closed down from tomorrow (Wednesday) to Sunday for five days in a bid to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
The CMSSA District President Mansoor informed, "The CMSSA has taken this decision to support the COVID-19 prevention efforts of the District Administration. We request the public to extend their support as well."
