While a lockdown with restrictions is in place in Valparai due to the COVID-19 situation, people from the tea estates travel to Valparai to buy essential items and medicines. This causes traffic snarls in Valparai.
Led by the Valparai Police Inspector Maheswari, Sub Inspector Sathish Kumar and other constables conducted vehicular checks at Valparai. More than 10 vehicles without proper license and insurance, lack of face masks and no proper reason to travel, were seized and the drivers/owners fined.
Police Inspector Maheswari also has been creating awareness amid the public through PA systems installed at various places.
