Tirupur: The District Administration has tightened the quarantine norms in Tirupur, after COVID cases have spiked up, in the past few weeks. With 39 cases reported today, the total tally of cases in Tirupur district stands at 737.
Tirupur: The District Administration has tightened the quarantine norms in Tirupur, after COVID cases have spiked up, in the past few weeks. With 39 cases reported today, the total tally of cases in Tirupur district stands at 737.
As per reports, 343 people belonging to the district who were tested positive for the novel Coronavirus are under treatment at government and various private hospitals. On Monday, seven people who have fully recovered from the infection were discharged to their homes.
Adding to the existing quarantine list of 3037 people, 302 people have joined the bandwagon of home quarantine due to various reasons including travel history, high risk contact or those belonging to containment zones. Among them, 172 people have been released from their quarantine period, informed District Collector, K. Vijayakarthikeyan.
In a bid to contain the spread, the District Administration has ramped up PCR testing and 761 people were subjected to COVID testing in the district, of which 39 people were tested positive. Around 15 patients are above the age of 50 and two childrens below age 7 are tested positive, today.
