Association of Jain temples petition District Administration for reopening of Jain temples

Coimbatore:Jain Moorthi Pujak Sangh, a united association of 15.jain temples in coimbatore petitioned the chief minister of Tamil Nadu through the Coimbatore Administration to reopen jain temples.


Coimbatore: Jain Moorthi Pujak Sangh, a united association of 15 Jain temples in Coimbatore petitioned the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu through the Coimbatore District Administration to reopen jain temples.

All the presidents and secretaries of the associations met and decided to open the temple with restrictions during the festival of Paryushan in August. The Paryushan is the biggest festival among the minority Jains and it is practised all over the world and followed throughout every year.

The association presidents and office bearers met the District Revenue Officer in the morning and submitted a request to him in the absence of the District Collector to reopen the temples which are under closure since lockdown. The DRO gave assurance that he would look into the matter and clarify the same and would try to give permission with few restrictions in a few days.

A delegation led by Auditor Vijayraj Jain, president of the Suparswanath Jain temples at R. G. Street, Secretary Mahaveer Mehta. Auditor Kailash Jainand other committee members of the Jain Federation DevichandGandhi, Kantilal Kothari, Surendra Golecha, Lalit. N. Shah, Bhavesh D. Shah, Uttam jain, Jeetmul Obani, and Kishore Golecha met the DRO.

Earlier the federation members met Acharya Sree Vardhaman Sagar Surishwarji Marasaheb, the religious guru of the Jain minority community at R. G street temple and got his blessings.

Social distancing was observed during the event.
