Three Hindu temples in Coimbatore were vandalized on the 18th. Following this, Hindu organizations protested. A special team was later set up on the orders of Coimbatore Commissioner of Police Sumit Sharan. They arrested Gajendran who was involved in the crime.
He was imprisoned in the Pollachi Sub-Jail. Gajendran has been suffering from severe abdominal pain since yesterday following which he was admitted at Coimbatore Government Hospital with heavy security on the orders of the prison warden. He is said to have a stomach ailment and is currently being treated at the Convict Ward.
