Tirupur: In a shocking incident, a 37-year-old man went live on social networking site Facebook while hanging himself to death at his residence in Tirupur, on Thursday.
The deceased has been identified as Ramkumar (37) from Dharapuram in Tirupur district. He is working as a driver for a private company in Tirupur and is survived by his wife Sukasini (34) and a 13-year-old son.
On Thursday, Ramkumar has reportedly called his father over phone and informed of his decision to end his life and then live-streamed his extreme step in his Facebook and hanged himself to death at his residence in Mummurthy Nagar, Tirupur.
Appalled by the live stream, many of his friends alerted his wife who rushed to home to check on him. Ramkumar who was in an unconscious state was rushed to a hospital where he was pronounced brought dead.
The Anupparpalayam police rushed to the spot and seized a letter written by Ramkumar in which he had mentioned that none forced him or is responsible for his decision to end life. He added that he did not want to live in such a disgraceful world and it was worthless.
The police who have registered a case and are investigating.
The live-streaming of his extreme step on Facebook has triggered shock amid the people.
