In an event held today, COP Sumit Sharan handed over protective kits containing items including mask, sanitizer, glasses, gloves and thermal scanner to the police personnel of Saravanampatti and Selvapuram police stations.
The City Police department have intensified their COVID preventive measures after several police personnel on duty at Podanur, Thudiyalur, Sulur, Ukkadam, Thondamuthur, Ramanathapuram and Madukkarai police stations were affected by the corona virus and police stations being temporarily relocated.
Citing the recent increase of COVID cases in the city, the Police Commissioner advised the police personnel on duty, to wear masks, gloves, wash their hands regularly and maintain social distancing at all time.
