As part of the COVID-19 prevention measures, the vegetable market that functions at Ukkadam Lorrypettai in the Central Zone was visited by the Corporation Commissioner J. Shravan Kumar along with flying squad members, who conducted a field inspection and advised the traders and the public to wear face masks and maintain proper social distancing.
The team then visited and inspected the medical camps held at the West and South Zones of the Corporation. He visited the camps in the west zone at Balaji marriage hall, Subramaniam road, in ward no. 24, Sumith Apartments on Mettupalayam road in Ward no. 22, Integrated Children's Center campus at Kamaraj Nagar, TVS Nagar street in Ward no.9, Integrated Children's center at Sakthi Nagar on Kavundampalayam- Edayarpalayam road in ward no. 8 and at Edayarpalayam Corporation Middle school on Thadagam road in ward no.7.
Later they visited the medical camps being held in the South zone at Vasantham Nagar in Ward no. 87 and Indra Nagar, PK Pudur in Ward no.92. He directed the concerned officials to raise awareness among the public regarding these medical camps.
The Commissioner then visited the waste-generated power station construction work at the Kuniyamuthur Chinnamayanam area in Ward no. 87 of the South zone. He also visited the construction of the underground sewerage waste disposal centre at Muthu Nagar in Ward no. 100 and urged the officials to complete the task swiftly.
