Despite a curfew order to control the growing corona spread in Tamil Nadu, the number of confirmed cases hasis almost touching 2 lakh and is increasing fast.
As per the information released by the Tamil Nadu government yesterday, the number of confirmed cases of coronavirus infection in Tamil Nadu was 1,80,643.
With a further 5,849 people being diagnosed today, this brings the total number of corona infected people to 1,86,492.
Recoveries too had a good day as 4,910 people have recovered and been discharged. Thus the total number of people healed of COVID-19 in Tamil Nadu has increased to 1,31,583. In addition, 74 people have died today from the corona virus infection. It has so far claimed 2700 lives.
At present, the number of coronavirus testing centers is 113. So far 20,95,757 samples have been tested by the testing centers in all of TN.
1,171 people in Chennai alone got infected today. The number of COVID-19 infections in the state capital was 89,561.
Similarly, 179 people have been confirmed to be infected with coronavirus in a single day in Coimbatore today. As a result, the number of infected people in Coimbatore has increased to 2,539. 12 new cases of corona virus infection have been confirmed in the Nilgiris. As a result, the number of affected in the Nilgiris has risen to 528.
29 new cases of corona infection have been confirmed in Tirupur today and the total has risen to 567.
