Coimbatore: All India Tourist Drivers Association protested demanding road tax be repealed.

Members of the association protested with their vehicles in front of the Coimbatore Central Regional Transport Office. They raised slogans and held placards stating that collecting road tax is unfair as the tourist vehicle sector has been paralyzed due to the COVID pandemic.
They said that the protest today is observed as a one-day strike and demanded COVID relief fund for the drivers. Theyrequested that road tax should be canceled. They also said that the government should renew their insurances. They then submitted a petition containing their demands to officials at the Regional Transport Office.
