Ukkadam vegetable market shifted to Ukkadam Bus stand

Coimbatore: The Ukkadam vegetable market that used to function at the Ukkadam Lorrypettai has now been shifted to the Ukkadam Bus stand to combat the spread of COVID-19.

Coimbatore: The Ukkadam vegetable functioning at the Lorry Pettai has been shifted to Ukkadam Bus stand.

In order to control the spread of COVID-19 in the district, the Ukkadam vegetable market functioning at the Ramar Kovil Street in Lorry Pettai was shifted back to Ukkadam bus stand, temporarily.

Earlier, the makeshift market at the bus stand was shifted to Lorry Pettai after the resumption of bus services resumed in June.

Post this, a 60 year old man from the Lorry Pettai area was admitted at the GH where he expired. Prior to his admission, he was tested for COVID-19, which came back positive.

As a result of this the vegetable market that had been functioning in the Lorrypettai area has been shifted to the Ukkadam bus stand again since public transport remains banned.
