With COVID-19 infections on the up, Coimbatore Corporation has formed flying squads in order to ensure that shops and industries observe all the government-issued COVID restrictions. The shops and businesses that are found flouting the norms are fined and sealed.
The flying squads sealed 22 shops including cell phone shops and meat stalls yesterday.
When the flying squad members inspected a biriyani stall at Ward no 17 today, they found the shop did not observe social distancing. Following this, the stall was sealed.
Similarly, a meat stall near Vadavalli Uzhavar Sandhai that did not observe social distancing was sealed by the officials
