Construction of a private company is underway at the Seerapalayam Panchayat in Madukkarai Union near Coimbatore. A group of 12 workers were brought in from Bihar for employment at this construction site. The public in the nearby areas complained about this to the panchayat President, who then informed the Health Department.
Following this all the 12 workers were tested for COVID-19 by the Health Department. Out of the 12, six tested positive for COVID-19. Subsequently, they have been sent for treatment. The other six have been asked to isolate themselves.
The public say that these workers might have arrived without proper E-passes. They also expect that an enquiry must be conducted to ascertain who brought these workers.
