Coimbatore: Thanthai Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam (TPDK) has lodged a complaint at the Coimbatore Police Commissioner's office against BJP National Secretary H Raja.
Various political parties registered their protest in condemnation of vandalisation of a Periyar statue on the 17th at the Sundarapuram area in Coimbatore. A case was registered at the Kuniamuthur police station and Bharat Sena district organizer Arun Krishnan surrendered at the Podanur police station.
Under the circumstances, vandalisation of Mahali Amman temple at Town Hall and two other temples in the Railway Station and Nallampalayam areas caused a stir. Following this, police nabbed Gajendran from Salem in connection with these incidents.
Meanwhile, BJP National Secretary H. Raja tweeted that Hindu temples in Coimbatore were damaged by the TPDK. They demanded that a case be registered against H. Raja for plotting to slander TPDK and its general secretary Ramakrishnan.
They accused him of spreading slander in order to deliberately incite riots between people. The TPDK cadres said the complaint is part of a statewide campaign of lodging complaints against H. Raja.
