Coimbatore: Youngster who absconded after stabbing a college girl and her dad was nabbed in Kerala.
Rithish and Kavitha, a first year B.Com student at a private college here, (18, name changed) from Coimbatore's Arumuga Goundanur were in love but her parents objected to it. So, she began avoiding him.
Upset over this, Rithish visited Kavitha's home around 8.30 on July 17 and confronted her. When she came out, the two got into an argument and the man knifed her.
On hearing her scream, Kavitha's father, Kumar (48, name changed), came out and he was also stabbed on his hands.
While Kumar's condition is stable, Kavitha succumbed to her injuries on Saturday. Perur police registered a case and were investigating.
Three special teams were formed to nab an absconding Rithish. After intense search efforts, the police arrested Ratheesh from his relatives’ home in Thrissur, Kerala. He has been brought to Thondamuthur station for enquiry.
Apart from IPC 302, Ritheesh has been booked under POCSO as well for sexually harassing the deceased girl.
