Nandavanam on the banks of the Bhavani River in Mettupalayam, Coimbatore district is considered to be a holy place and is customary to pay homage to the ancestors here.
Many people from Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Nilgiris and the surrounding areas come here to pay homage to their ancestors, especially on the eve of the new moon.
During this time, more than five thousand people worship their ancestors here since early morning on the eve of the new moon.
During the pandemic times, the government has been carrying out corona infection prevention activities in Nandavanam for the last four months. Curfew is in effect in public places.
As a continuation of this, an order has been issued on behalf of the Coimbatore district administration today to ban giving Thithi here during Adi Ammavasai here
Billboards have been erected in Nandavanam area and has been closed for the public.
