4 women from same family test positive for COVID-19 in Annur
Coimbatore: A 72-year-old plywood merchant from Madurai visited Rajasthan last week for a relative's funeral.On the return leg of his journey, he flew to Coimbatore. After undergoing a PCR test here, he tried obtaining an E-pass to return home to Madurai. Unable to secure one, he started staying at his relatives' home in Annur.
He subsequently tested positive for COVID along with a 14-year-old boy from the home that he stayed at. Following this, all the members of the family were subjected to PCR tests.
With nobody testing positive, they were subjected to tests for a second time. The second round of tests confirmed that 4 women including a 48-year-old female have turned positive for the dreaded virus.
Following this, they have been admitted to the special COVID treatment camp in Annur.
