With 2000 plus, the daily average in Chennai is down to around 1,200, but Coimbatore which had just 141 cases in June 1st week now stands at 2043 cases.
Two deaths have been reported today - a 74-year old elderly woman who was under treatment for the the past ten days and another 65-year-old woman succumbed to the novel Coronavirus, on Sunday. Today, a total of 112 patients undergoing treatment for COVID-19 were discharged. Out of which, 79 patients including 45 men and 34 women were discharged from ESI hospital.
Cases in several cluster zones including Selvapuram, Telengupalayam, KK Pudur, Townhall and Kuniyamuthur are on the rise everyday, despite the areas being cordoned off and closed.
