Miscreant vandalising Hindu temples in Coimbatore identified; Police cast net for Gajendran from Salem
Coimbatore: Police investigation into the vandalisation of Hindu temples in Coimbatore has brought results. The culprit has been identified.
Tense moments prevailed in and around Coimbatore after Mahaliamman Temple at Town Hall, Vinayagar Temple in front of the Railway Station and Selva Vinayagar Temple at Nallampalayam were vandalised yesterday. It also seemed that the temples were tried to be razed.
Pro-Hindu outfits in general took to streets in large numbers and protested in condemnation of these incidents.
Coimbatore police formed a special team on the orders of City Commissioner of Police Sumit Charan to investigate the incident.
Under these circumstances, CCTV footage from the areas was subjected to intense scrutiny and the police have now unearthed the information that the miscreant is Gajendran hailing from Salem and he has gone into hiding. Six special team forces have been formed to nab the absconding Gajendran.
The perpetrator's family members, relatives and friends are being interrogated.
