Coimbatore: Various organizations, including the Hindu Munnani and the BJP, have got together in Coimbatore to protest the vandalisation of Hindu temples in Coimbatore.
Early this morning, unidentified persons set fire to Mahaliamman temple at Town Hall, Lord Vinayagar Temple in front of the Railway Station and Selva Vinayagar Temple in Nallampalayam.
Pro-Hindu organizations have strongly opposed this. They gathered in front of the temples and later in the Town Hall area and protested against these vandalisations. They accused that the incidents have hurt Hindu sentiments and it is like adding fuel to the fire.
Hindu Munnani functionary Guna spoke about this and said, "Police say that attackers of Hindu temples are mostly mentally deranged. This is unacceptable. We have set a deadline of 24 hours for the police to nab the criminals. If they fail to do this, we will gather Hindus and conduct a massive protest."
