Protest against unjust electricity tariffs levied during COVID-19 curfew on July 21 - N. Karthik MLA
"Penalty for leaving home and unfair electricity bill when staying indoors?" questioned Karthik MLA and said that there will be a protest on behalf of the DMK on July 21 condemning the AIADMK government and demanding reduction of the unjust electricity tariffs levied during COVID-19 curfew.
The MLA said, "In the online meeting that our party president held yesterday (16-07-2020) with district secretaries, members of parliament and legislators it was decided that state-wide protest will be held on July 21 by hoisting black flags in front of houses, condemning the AIADMK for burdening the public with exorbitant electricity bills and demanding proper meters readings, reduction of tariffs, and provision of the option to pay revised bills in installments.
The party president requested that members of District Committees, Administrators from Headquarters, Executive Committee and General Committee Members, Regional Secretaries and Administrators, District Secretaries and Administrators, District Organizers, Deputy Organizers, Association Leaders, Social Activists, and members of the public, city should spread news about the protest through leaflets, posters and social media and add strength to the demonstrations
Accordingly, on July 21 at 10 AM, he will carry a black flag in front of his house and raise slogans condemning the AIADMK. He said, "I request that this protest be held in such a way that it will soften the ruthless and hard-hearted AIADMK government".
