Coimbatore: Kovai Kulangal Pathukaappu Amaippu has won the TN Government's Dr. Guruswamy Mudaliar Environmental Management Award for 2018.

According to a press release from the Directorate of Environment, the annual award comprising cheques and mementoes goes to Kovai Kulangal Pathukaappu Amaippu belonging to Coimbatore for the year 2018. The award, which should have been conferred last year, was deferred due to the COVID-19 issue.

Kovai Kulangal Paathukaapu Amaippu shared the joy of receiving the award with us and said, "It is a great honor to receive the award. With this come a lot of responsibilities. We will strive more moving forward and serve the people more. Our ambition is to make all the water bodies here greener."

It is noteworthy that the pro-environmental organisation serves as much as it can by feeding the underprivileged on the roadside during the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.
