Forest Officer Dayanandan said the skull of the leopard had been hit hard causing its death. He surmises that the tiger and the leopard may have been fighting over territorial issues. The tiger's footprints have been taken.
He says the leopard could have tried to hunt the tiger's prey of sambar deer and an enraged tiger could have killed the leopard.
