More than 500 families live in the Kurumbapalayam area in Pollachi North Panchayat Union of Coimbatore district.
The Kurumbapalayam panchayat office was laid siege by the public from the village today due to alleged lack of action even after repeat petitions to officials for a removal of a dairy firm in their area that releases sewage that stagnates in the area causing proliferation of mosquitoes and poisonous germs on top of an unbearable stench.

The public lamented that despite petitioning various including the district collector and the sub-collector, there has been no action so far.
They demanded immediate action in a scenario where COVID infections keep raging.
