In line with the stations in Podanur, Sulur, Thudiyalur and Madukkarai, Ukkadam Police Station too has contributed a positive to the district's COVID tally.
The policeman from the Ukkadam police station developed flu-like symptoms and underwent PCR test at a private hospital the results of which returned positive last night.
He has been admitted at the COVID Care Centre at CODISSIA for treatment. Meanwhile, all of his colleagues have been slotted to undergo tests.

The station premises have been disinfected and closed.

Meanwhile, preparations are underway for the station to be temporarily shifted to the nearby Nallayan Community Hall on Vincent Road.
