Coimbatore: The increasing COVID-19 positive cases among police personnel in the city has raised concern. Most of the police personnel get exposed to the virus while they are involved in prevention and other bandobust duties.

Few police stations including Thudiyalur and Madukkarai are already closed down temporarily, following COVID cases.
With already 7 cops tested positive for COVID in Thudiyalur police station, one more cop has also been tested positive, today. The station which is already been closed is presently functioning at a nearby marriage hall.
All the infected are admitted at ESI hospital for treatment. Majority of the cops with COVID-19 were asymptomatic initially, say sources.
