Coimbatore: District administration has decided to provide Siddha treatment to asymptomatic patients if they so desire.

With COVID cases maintaining a steady upward curve, the Government of Tamil Nadu is using various treatment modalities to treat them.

On those lines, the Coimbatore District administration has decided to offer Siddha treatment to asymptomatic patients if they so desire.

Around 25 patients at the CODISSIA COVID Care Centre have expressed willingness to undergo the therapy. This initiative has been undertaken following the recovery of more than 1000 cases that underwent Siddha treatment in Chennai.

A modality that is basically research oriented will be practised and the recovery of patients and the changes that their body systems undergo will be recorded, analyzed and organised for future treatment purposes.

Siddha Medical Officer Dhanam said, "Arrangements for beginning Siddha therapy have been made at CODISSIA. Drugs are on the ready. The patient will be met with today and data will be collected. In the first phase, only those who volunteer for the treatment will be chosen."
