Coimbatore: A Temple near Peelamedu Coimbatore, had it’s collection box robbed in the middle of the night yesterday (July 14, 2020). Police are actively searching for the culprits who broke in and robbed the money.

Selvaganesha Temple is located in the Lal Bahadur Colony area of Peelamedu, Coimbatore. The incident where unidentified persons broke the collection box and stole money from this temple last night has caused a stir.
It’s said that when the priest Manikandan, who lives near the temple, came to the temple last night following the sound of the alarm fitted in the temple, he was shocked to see that the box had been broken and the money in the collection box was scattered all around.
Later, Peelamedu police and fingerprint experts who came to the spot on his complaint recorded the fingerprints.
They are also searching for the robbers through video footage recorded on a CCTV camera. The amount of money stolen will only be known if the robbers are arrested because much money was scattered.
