All India Tourist Drivers Association petitions Coimbatore Assistant Regional Transport Officer for relief funds and cancellation of road tax
Coimbatore: All India Tourist Drivers Association petitioned Coimbatore Assistant Regional Transport Officer for relief funds and cancellation of road tax and fulfillment of a few other demands.

With the COVID taking its toll on tourism, the All India Tourist Drivers Association submitted a petition with the Assistant Regional Transport Officer, Coimbatore.

It is stated in the petition as all tourist sites, hotels and shops have emptied out due to COVID-19 threat, the drivers have lost their livelihood for nearly 5 months. They demanded that the government should provide them relief funds.

Furthermore, they requested that road tax and the lockdown-periods EMIs for the loans they have taken should be entirely waived. They also requested that the E-pass system should be simplified in order to ease their movement.
