The District Police Commissioner's office comprises the Control room and the divisions of Economic Offences, Law and Order, Transport and Intelligence. Including the administrative staff, more than 500 persons work here.
The increasing spread of COVID-19 in the district has not spared the police personnel as well as a result of which cops at Podanur Police station and the Thudiyalur police stationhave tested positive for COVID-19. Now, a crime branch cop working at the Police Commissioner's office has turned positive for the dreaded virus.
Following this, the Police Commissioners office has been closed for everyone other than the policemen. Police personnel are also being moved from the office.
All the employees working at the City Commissioner's office are likely to be tested tomorrow, according to sources.
