The curfew has been in place since last March due to the high prevalence of coronavirus across the country. This has paralyzed many industries.
Meanwhile, taxi drivers from Tamil Nadu Working Drivers Union have filed a petition with the District Collector's Office alleging that their livelihood has been affected by the curfew and in view of that they should be provided with relief funds.
They have requested that the Government of Tamil Nadu should also help drivers who are not members of the welfare board.
