Tirupur: A driver was hacked to death in Tirupur.
Pechimuthu (39), a resident of the village of Marathotti in Thoothukudi district lived with his wife Maruthavadivu and three daughters in Nachipalayam, Tirupur.
He had been working as a driver in Thanjavur. He returned to Tirupur a month ago and joined a temporary job. Meanwhile, he was found dead with blood all over his body at Little Flower Town on Tirupur-Mangalam Road.
Upon receiving information, police rushed to the area and retrieved Pechimuthu's body. The police then seized two knives lying near the body. They also seized a two-wheeler parked nearby.
Investigations revealed that there are several cases pending against Pechimuthu in various parts of Tamil Nadu and that he lived in Nachipalayam. The police have begun an inquest into the angle as to why Pechimethu had gone to a place 15 kms away from his home where he was murdered. Three special teams have been formed and investigation has been geared up.
