Tamil Nadu continues with marginal drops in single-day spikes; 3,965 new cases today.
Tirupur: After a small spike of 4,000 plus on Thursday, Tamil Nadu reported another day of positives a little below the 4,000 mark with 3,965 fresh cases, on Saturday. The total number of cases in the state now stands at 1,34,226.
However, the number of deaths almost touched the 70 mark with 69 people succumbing to the novel virus, taking the death toll to 1898, according to the State Health bulletin.
Of the 3,965 cases, Chennai has reported 1185 cases, on Saturday.
Bringing much hope, 3,591 patients were discharged following treatment, thus taking the total number of recoveries to 85,915, so far.
The bulletin informed that 15,66,917 samples have been processed so far and 37,825 samples were taken today.
As of today, the number of active COVID-19 cases in the state is 46,410.
