Coimbatore: MP P.R. Natarajan has urged the Central Health Department to launch a CGHS Medical Service Center for the benefit of Central Governmentofficials in Coimbatore.
He released a statement to that effect. He said, "The CGHS under the Central Health Department has centres that offer coordinated medical and pharmacy services. Central government officials and their families, former and sitting MP's use the pharmacy. This service that is operated based on insurance is currently centered only in state capitals. As far as Tamil Nadu goes, Chennai alone has a CGHS pharmacy."
He added that beneficiaries who live in other places including Coimbatore are not in a position to be benefitted from the CGHS service.
He said, "As an MP, I have been trying hard to bring this service to Coimbatore. In extension, a petition signed by a total of seven MPs including MPs from the Kongu region and Palakkad was sent to the Central Health Department. The Central Health Department has assured that action will be taken to set up CGHS pharmacies in Coimbatore and Madurai. As the MP of Coimbatore, I welcome this move."
