The memorial event was conducted at the Tirupur BJP office. BJP senior executive and former MP C.P. Radahakrishan paid homage to the late freedom fighter Maveeran Alagumuthu Kone.
He met with the press after the event. He said, "The Paul Harris Fellow recognition granted by the American Rotary Foundation is awarded to people who perform remarkable services in the areas such as drinking water, sanitation, environment and world peace. The TN CM has been selected for it because he deserves it. MGR was a benefactor to the Tamils and now PM Modi plays that role for people all over India. Many welfare schemes have been introduced by him."
He added, "In a never-before measure, Modi's government has provided guarantee to the MSMEs and helped them avail 20% loan. The lives of farmers have never been this good. Modi is a person who provides new hope. The opposition parties in TN should not function as opposing parties alone, they must do something more constructive. The opposition parties and the media should cooperate with the efforts of the government."
"The number of COVID-19 cases surpassing 1 lakh is worrying. Nobody can be blamed for this situation. Right from the Health Minister to the worker in the lowermost rung, everybody is doing an exceptional job, the reason why many ministers are COVID positive", he said.
