The ubiquitous Aavin milk parlours are very popular as they sell milk beverages and snacks at very affordable prices. One can see them doing brisk business right from the wee hours in the morning until late in the night.
These shops that remained closed during the earlier and middle stages of the lockdown, upped their shutters when the state government permitted shops to run with certain relaxations.
Concerned citizens kept voicing complaints about Aavin milk parlours in the Sulur area that were running without maintenance of social distancing norms.
Based on these complaints, an inspection of the parlours at Sulur were undertaken by Executive Officer Senthil and his team.
During the inspection, seven shops that did not observe the requisite social distancing norms were sealed. Also, the officials warned of severe action against those who violate the government's COVID restrictions.
