Coimbatore A 31-year-old-man has been arrested in Coimbatore for tying up his wife, assaulting her and issuing threats at knifepoint.
Sivakumar (31) of Kutti Goundan Pudur got married to Jeeva (27) from Siddhapudur six years ago. Post their wedding, the couple is said to have regular domestic disputes.
Allegedly, Sivakumar entered an extramarital affair in the meantime and started abusing Jeeva. Infuriated by this, Jeeva went back to her mother's house four months ago.
This being the case, a few days ago, Sivakumar visited his in-laws’ house and allegedly tortured his wife. Jeeva accuses that he tied up her hands and legs, assaulted her and issued threats at knifepoint.
Eventually, Jeeva got wind of the news that Sivakumar had gotten married to another woman. Following this, she filed a complaint at the Central Mahila Police Station.
Based on the complaint, the police conducted investigations and filed a case against Sivakumar and imprisoned him.
