The single-day spikes of COVID-19 cases in Tirupur have been displaying a steady upward curve over the past few days. The District Administration has been continuously raising awareness amid the public and keep reiterating the the use of face masks and maintenance of social distancing.
The District Collector Vijayakarthikeyan informed, "Special teams that have been monitoring various places in the Tirupur district have collected a fine of Rs.82,150 from 719 who were found not wearing face masks. They were also educated on how the face masks help in preventing the spread of infections."
He added, "A total of 3,297 people with the 240 added today are in home quarantine in the district. While 229 persons completed their 14-day quarantine period today, 792 underwent PCR tests."
