1300 migrant workers ferried to their states in a special train from Tirupur

Tirupur: Over 1,300 people West Bengal and Jharkhand migrant workers from different parts of Tamil Nadu were brought to Tirupur and ferried to their home states in a special train today.

Tirupur: Over 1,300 people West Bengal and Jharkhand migrant workers from different parts of Tamil Nadu were brought to Tirupur and ferried to their home states in a special train today.

During the lockdown announced on March 24 and its subsequent extensions, more than 30 special trains have carried migrant workers from Tirupur to their home states.



One such train carrying workers from West Bengal and Jharkhand left from Tirupur Today. The workers were gathered in Tirupur from different parts of Tamil Nadu, including Nilgiris, Namakkal, Salem and Erode .

Prior to the journey, the travellers were thermal scanned and provided with food and water by the district administration.
