Photograph of black panther trending on social media elicits memories of famed Jungle Book character ‘Bagheera’!
Coimbatore: The popular twitter handle @earth posted a striking picture of a black panther prowling in a Karnataka jungle.
The photograph was shot by Shaaz Jung, a wildlife photographer and blogger in 2019 and taken at the Kabini Forests in Karnataka. Shaaz Jung posted it on his Instagram page.
The photo has been winning the hearts of many. Fascinated by the surrealistic picture, many netizens have opined that it reminds them of the famed character “Bagheera” from the yesteryear cult classic “Jungle Book.” Tagging the picture, a netizen remarked, “Only in the real India could Bagheera come alive like he did in the Jungle Book!”
Those who have read the book authored by Rudyard Kipling might recall his famous words “Everybody knew Bagheera, and nobody cared to cross his path.” The book was later converted into a motion picture and went onto become a roaring chartbuster.
It is to be noted that black panthers are one of the rare species of big cats found in the Western Ghats and feature on the list of endangered species.
